We tend to think of writing when we think of content marketing. How-to articles, listicles, blog posts, and more are pushed on social media day in and day out in hopes that readers will share them. But what happens if you’re a content marketer who hates writing? Fear not, because while some writing is unavoidable there are still plenty of things you can do to minimize it.
With so much content out there, readers are getting tired of slogging through long posts. The answer lies in visual content. Images are content just as much as words are, and you can push them out on a variety of social media channels. Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, and more are all tailor-made for sharing visual content. If you have a great image, you can share it across multiple channels. Ship that great Instagram picture over to Facebook to effectively double its audience, for example. Combining images with relevant articles can get you even better results. Content with both words and images gets a whopping 94% more views than words alone. While you may not be off the hook for writing altogether, visual content can certainly cut down on it!
