If you’re developing a business plan for your new business, you’ll need to include a mission statement. This element captures, in a few simple words, what your business’s goals and philosophies are. It tells customers and employees alike what you’re all about.
Your mission statement should reflect the range and nature of the products or services that you offer as well as their price, quality, and your level service. It should reflect your business’s special niche, too. How can you be sure to do all of that? You can start by asking yourself some key questions. Why are you in business? What’s you final goal for yourself? For your customers? For that matter, who are your customers and what image do you want to convey to them? Everyone will have a perception of your company, but it’s up to you what that perception will be. You also need to know what the nature of your products and services is and what level of service you’ll provide. Don’t be vague, either. Everyone claims to have “the best,” but you have to tell people why yours really is the best. The right mission statement is essential to your business plan, but these questions can help you get to it!
