Email marketing is a great technique for small businesses. It’s simple, cheap, and a strong way to build a relationship with your customer bade. But if you’re planning to start an email marketing campaign, you should first know what to avoid so you don’t look like an amateur.

First, you should make sure to use a professional email provider. Finding the right provider can mean the difference between reaching new customers and being sent straight to the spam folder. The next thing you’ll need to do is make sure that your emails are readable on a mobile device. Today, 43% of all emails are read on smartphones, so if your emails don’t look right they’ll more than likely be sent to the trash. Be sure to optimize your emails so they can fit mobile screens properly. As far as the content, be sure to fill it with useful information for the recipient. Don’t just tell people about your company and ask for a sale, share tips and insights, stories about customers you’ve helped and what your services can do. Follow these tips, and your email marketing campaign will take off!
