Employee review time isn’t fun for anyone. Not for you, not for your employees. However, it is possible to turn these reviews into productive conversations with the right kind of feedback. When you critique an employee’s performance, frame your points so that you’re suggesting how behavior and performance can be improved, not how a person’s character needs to change. Be focused and specific, not general and vague, and the conversation will head in the right direction.
