As the switch from computer to mobile screens commences, columnist Patrick Stox has some ideas on how to save the integrity of design for websites originally made for our computer screens. The design challenge of hopping from the computer to a mobile screen is to cover the main ideas without cutting out any of the content. Stox suggests that users consider integrating the following items onto their websites for mobile screens: table of contents, html headings, expandable content, tabs, filters, summaries, bullet points, and highlights. Though Stox focuses mainly on mobile designs, some of these design attributes can be applied to computer screens as well.
