Personal branding used to be reserved for celebrities, but social media has changed all that. Creating a personal brand can go a long way in establishing your credibility in your chosen field. How can you build your online persona into a brand that people can trust?
It starts with proof. In this day and age, people can simply Google anything you say, so what they find better back it up. When a potential client Googles your name, what do they see? Chances are they’ll see your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+ profiles. A strong brand will have similar aesthetics across all of these, and their pages will of course be filled out entirely and detailed. Showcase a few recommendations on your LinkedIn profile to give yourself some third party credibility. Finally, make it clear in all of your profiles that you specialize in a certain thing. Don’t try to be all things to all people. Be an expert, and you’ll be far more credible. Follow these tips, and you could be on your way to becoming an industry leader!
