You might have tens of thousands of connections through social media, emails, and blogs, but building relationships with your prospects has still never been more important. Why is that? Because connections don’t equal profit. You must build your connections into strong relationships if you hope to turn them into customers. How can you do that?
First, be clear and up front about the problems your product or service can solve. Nobody will care about how great your product is; they only care if it will help them. Show people how you intend to do that, and sales will follow. You also must interact with your prospects. Respond to their questions to build value with them. If one person out there has a question, chances are good that many others have the same one. If you make it a priority to answer any inquiries, you’ll begin to build solid relationships with your leads. Interacting on social media is another great way to build those relationships. At first it may seem like you’re speaking to empty room, but as your audience grows you can start to build a community. Do this, and your leads will begin to see your company’s true value.
