Google will be updating its review rich results in order to improve performance and prevent abusive implementation. This Google update has a significant impact for any publisher who uses reviews structured data. Review rich results display star ratings in search results snippets. Google will now be limiting rich results reviews to certain schema and forbidding self-serving reviews. Perhaps the biggest alteration is that a “name” property will now be required. Anyone relying on a schema structured data plugin should make sure it’s covered as a “name” property.
