Last updated: December 9, 2017 By Braintrust

A value proposition is a message that communicates to the consumer exactly why they should purchase from you. It needs to specific and set you apart from the competition. Most of all, it needs to create value for the customer. When presenting your value proposition on your website, keep it short. Use a headline and subhead to get the customer’s attention. Follow with a few sentences and images that give details about the product or service you are selling. Utilize A/B testing to test your value proposition. Don’t worry if your value proposition doesn’t appeal everyone. Just remember to focus on your target market.

Key Takeaways:

  • Distinct from your corporate slogan, your company’s value proposition communicates the functionality of your products or services, and how they differ from competitors’.
  • Build your value proposition by narrowing down your target market and communicating added value you offer to your target customers.
  • After constructing a value proposition, use approaches like A/B testing and pay-per-click advertising to figure out the most effective layout on your website.

“Your value needs to be relevant to the customer. Explain why your brand, product, or service can offer a solution to a problem.”
