Search engine optimization and accessibility often overlap. Accessibility of websites should be an important concern for those working with and within the web space. Cognitive, visual and physical challenges need to be addressed in order for the website to be fully accessible, which is also a legal requirement in many instances. Accessibility is guided by four principles – the content needs to be operable, perceivable, robust and understandable. Additionally, accessibility through different platforms and periodic updates also needs to be ensured.
