Low Social Media Engagement? You Need These Copywriting Tips!

If no one’s clicking your links or commenting on your posts, the most likely reason is that your copy simply isn’t up to snuff. Luckily, when it comes to driving social media engagement, there are some tried and true techniques that will help get you to the top of the heap.

The first thing you can do to help yourself out is to define and express your business’ unique selling proposition (USP). What is it that you’re offering that your competitors aren’t? Tell your potential customers why they should buy from you instead of them, and work to get your USP down to a single sentence that will be the central message of your marketing going forward. From there, you may think you’re ready to start highlighting what it is your business does. But that’s not where your focus should be – it should be on what your business offers the consumer. Don’t tell them that your app now boasts a scheduling feature, tell them how much easier their lives will be thanks to this feature. By doing this, you’re touching on potential customers’ needs, wants, and even emotions in order to engage them. By using basic human psychology, you’ll find yourself climbing to the top of the social media heap.
