Title: SEO Braintrust Podcast
Date: March 14, 2011
Authors: Dan Thies & Andrea Warner
Run Time: 44:25 (44 minutes, 25 seconds)
Dan & Andrea discuss these questions on this podcast:
00:17 A number of members have asked about some comments Ed Dale made on a recent webinar, where he said that automated publishing to Facebook pages, through apps like RSS Graffiti, can be “dangerous.” Is this true?
05:07 Everyone keeps talking about content farms – that they’re being targeted by Google’s recent update. What’s a content farm anyway? How can I tell if my site will be seen as a content farm?
17:07 My site has been affected – in a bad way – by Google’s recent update. What are some steps I can take to improve my site?
25:13 I read that Google’s updates are all about favoring big brands. How do I build a big brand?

Hi Dan, do you guys have a transcript available for this podcast. Some of the audio is muffled and I’m having a hard time understanding what’s being said in some places.
I heard Paul Colligan talk about not using 3rd party apps for Facebook posts so I did some tracking myself and I tend to agree with him. I’m basing this on statistics I’m getting from Facebook about the number of impressions that a post gets but I’m not sure that is the best barometer for making a decision against using them – it might also depend on which apps you’re using.
Thanks for the podcast.
Hi,
Is your SEO program open? If so, how do I sign up?
