Twitter revamped the retweet with a comment feature to now include pictures, GIFs, and video. However, the actual use of this new feature is underwhelming. When media is added to a retweet, the tweet being shared loses visibility. The media is more promptly shown and the original tweet is only linked. Unless you click the link, its not clear what is being displayed. It would be preferable for the tweet to include the original and the retweet in the same view.
- Twitter has added a new feature to the retweet and that feature is the ability to add photos, gifs and videos to something one wants to retweet.
- This feature required some details that made it to involve several teams and those details are the tweet detail page and timelines.
- The ability for one to upgrade his retweet is now in the offing but it is advised that the feature is still in the development stage.
“Twitter shared some information about the development process of this feature, which sounds surprisingly complex and involved collaboration between multiple teams.”
