A team lead by Detlef Johnson used a URL-inspection tool in order to find the validation errors in the search enhancement process. Unfortunately, there were many errors that need to be addressed. For instance, sometimes websites showed that the screen was too wide for user-friendly access, or maybe the clickable keywords were too close together to result in productive lead generation. Allowing Google to show these validation errors can help address them to produce much higher levels of authentic leads.
- The URL reporting tool is used for validating page level error reporting while the Enhancements section deals with site-wide warnings and error reporting.
- Using the Mobile Usability report, one can view errors that are not necessarily validation errors but have been flagged as mobile unfriendly by Google.
- One’s appearance in Google search can be broadly affected when it comes to AMP and Structured Data reporting, and not just mobile search.
“Mobile Usability, AMP-HTML, and Rich results information can be found when the corresponding markup is detected. Google has a small number of dedicated validation services and it’s nice to see some replication of these in Google Search Console. Notably missing, however, are Lighthouse findings.”
