Your resume is perhaps the most important tool for landing your next job, but that doesn’t mean you need to pack it with every single piece of personal history you have. For example, you should leave off, or at least deemphasize, skills that you don’t want to do in your next job, and you should leave out any high school jobs you held. If you have long gaps of unemployment, try to fill those with volunteer work or consulting.
